Audo's surgery

Hey guys! Hope all is well! It's been a very long day and I miss Audo already! So here's the deal! Today, Audo and I got up at 4:30am, got our things together and headed out the door. We picked Mama up(who agreed to ride with us for company) at 5 and headed to Cary. We had to be there between 8 and 8:30 to get Audo checked in and taken care of. So after a long drive there, we got him situated and all at the vet, I said my goodbye's and gave kisses to my little boy and walked out the door. Such a hard thing to do, but I knew he was in good hands and it was all for the good. So we left and needed to go to the physical rehab place where Audo will be recovering for a couple of weeks. We FINALLY got there, after going all over Cary just about(which it was fun and had some good laughs). We got a tour of the facility and let me tell you, this place is awesome! Very very nice! Audo will have his own personal room with a tv(they watch disney movies) and a radio. He'll have a huge bed just for him(which I took his bed from home too) and pillows galore! They will watch him, give him loads of attention, ice him down for the pain and basically help him get better soon! They were super nice and very caring about all the "patients" they have! I saw another German Shepherd in there and man did he have it made! The tech guy was laying on his bed with him rubbing and strecthing his legs and holding an ice pack on his back(he had some spine work done). He was also watching a movie on his personal tv! haha! I took all of Audo's things in his room which included his bed, tub of food, squeaky toys, rawhides, bones, tennis balls, and a shirt I wore and gave to him(so he'd have my sent if he was scared). It took 3 of us to move all his stuff in! I know, spoiled right!!! I had to fill out all his paperwork which was basically telling them his routine, his likes/dislikes and all that stuff. By the time we left, I felt very confident that Audo will do just fine there. We went to Greenville (I had to pick up my cap and gown because I'm finally graduating) and we ran a few other errands! So then we headed for home. I got a phone call from Audo's surgical vet saying that he did very well through the surgery, he's in recovery and is sleeping off all the meds! I was so relieved to hear this news! We finally got home, went back to town, ate some supper then I came home, just this time I was puppyless. Patrick is still in Florida and I felt so bad because he didn't get to see Audo before he went in for his surgery, but we're going to try to go up there and visit on Friday! I can't wait to see him! It's so weird how attached you get another living creature and some people just don't understand, but Audo is like my son, he just walks on 4 legs instead of 2. I'm going to miss him terribly, especially without Patrick home. I won't know what to do to have the bed all to myself and not to have to get up early in the morning to go for a pee walk. Most importantly I think I'll miss that sweet face with that wet nose and those sweet sweet puppy kisses that I get all the time from my precious little boy! But hopefully the time will pass quickly, Audo will come home, recover well and have a long happy life with me and Patrick!! That is what we want for our little boy! He deserves only the best! Anyways, enough rambling! I'll keep everyone updated on his progress! Thank you for all your love, support and prayers!

Wow what a trip! I'm glad Audo did so well through the surgery. Joel had to go to CC last night for a Dr's appointment and took Skully with him so I was home alone and it was weird to not have my "protector" around...and I'm talking about Skully boy ..haha. He gets on my nerves sometimes but he does provide a sense of comfort and security. Good luck with the rest of Audo's recovery!

About Me

My photo
Most of y'all know me but here is a little info for you. First and foremost, I have a great family, an amazing boyfriend and some of the best friends a girl could ever ask for. Patrick and I have been together now for almost 3 years and I love him more and more everyday. We have a German Shepherd named Audo that we treat as if he were a child. He is incredibly spoiled but we wouldn't have it any other way! I am a graduate of ECU with a degree in Biology. I love capturing the moments as they happen in a photograph and there is nothing that compares to the smell of softball in the spring and the salt air in the summer! Please visit my website!!
