Since the last post, we've made it back safe and sound. Not sure exactly how Jessica feels but coming home was a little bitter-sweet for me. Don't get me wrong, I missed my family and friends (and Audo!) but I had such an amazing time! This trip was by far the best experience EVER! I'll cherish the memories and photos forever. Enjoy the last part of our trip!
- Tuesday, July 26th-Today we made it down to Amarillo, TX. This would be our last night camping and we definitely weren't complaining about how we didn't have to sleep on the ground anymore! Plus I think Jessica was getting tried of being slapped in the face by the tent! Anyways, before we turned in for the night, we ate at The Big Texan. This place is known for their 72oz steak challenge and has even been featured on Man vs. Food. It was pretty neat to see the challenge in action!

- Wednesday, July 27th-After our rough night camping, mainly because of the wind blowing 900 mph, all the trains rolling through and an unexpected neighbor, we hit the road to OOOOOklahoma City! Not much to see on the way other than wide open spaces! When we got there, we visited the Oklahoma City bombing memorial and took some pictures. Afterwards, we got some supper and called it a night!!

- Thursday, July 28th-Today we were making our way over to Louisiana and figured we'd go through Dallas to visit with a friend of Jessica's. After a fantastic time catching up and a wonderful Mexican meal, we went downtown to find some REAL cowgirl boots! The beach bum that I am, I've never tried on boots before and definitely got some tips while I was in the store. I normally hate to shop but I had a blast trying on different boots. Yes, I found a pair that I LOVE and they'll just have to stay on my wish list because they're way out of my price range!!!

- Friday, July 39th-New Orleans was our next stop! We were super excited to see this city. We checked in our "hotel" which turned out to be a pretty cool southern house and then we walked to the downtown area. It was super hot so we found somewhere to eat and sit in the AC for a bit! After a good southern meal, we ventured our way down Bourbon St. What a site to see! It's a constant party and very interesting to say the least! The street stays blocked off all the time and there are people EVERYWHERE!!! Of course, I was snapping pictures left and right! After walking for a bit, we got tired of the heat and decided to ride the trolly back to our room and chill out for the evening. Jessica has one last stop before she catches a plane back to the real world. Me on the other hand, I'm gonna drag this trip out for a few more days!

- Saturday, July 30th-We didn't have a long drive today so we checked out Pensacola before visiting with Robin and Farron in Alabama. Not much in Pensacola, or at least not that we saw, but it sure was nice to see the ocean again! And we did see a pretty cool OLD car. We arrived at Robin and Farron's around mid-afternoon and enjoyed catching up with them. It was fantastic to see people we haven't seen in awhile!! They fixed us an awesome steak supper and then we checked out the Bass Pro Shop that was nearby. We called it a night kinda late but it was so much fun to catch up! Thanks Robin and Farron for letting us stay the night!

- Sunday, July 31st-Well today was the worst day of the trip, I had to put Jessica on a plane back to Indiana. It was definitely a sad day because it meant that her vacation was over and mine was coming to an end. We took a few pictures, said goodbye to the Guthrie's, and headed to the airport. Jessica was on her way back and I was on my way to Savannah. By the time I got there that afternoon, my navigator had made it home safe! I figured I'd venture down to Tybee Island first since it was farther away than downtown Savannah. It rained off and on all afternoon but luckily while I was walking around the beach, the rain held off. I had supper at a place called Fannie's, which was pretty awesome and reminded me of home. It was great to watch the waves roll in while a storm brewed offshore and the best part was FINALLY drinking some REAL sweet tea!!! I got in the car just before the downpours and off the hotel I went. Only one more day left!

- Monday, August 1st-This morning I drove to downtown Savannah and walked around River street. I went in a few shops, picked up some souvenirs to bring home and took a few pictures. Since I only had a two hour drive to Charleston, I drove towards Tybee Island and visited a Fort. This fort reminded me a lot of Fort Macon except this one had water all the way around it. After taking more pictures, I left Savannah and made my way to Charleston. I arrived at my hotel, which wasn't quite ready, so I got directions to downtown and set off to see my last location before home. I walked through the market then had a good supper. I wanted to see the city but after walking MOST of the trip, I didn't want to walk anywhere and knew I wouldn't be able to see a lot by driving it myself. The horse tour I looked into was full so I opted for the pedicab ride. This is by far the best way to see the city. I had a BLAST talking with the driver and seeing the sites!!! Thanks Gabe for a fantastic "cruise" around the city!!!! After my hour and a half "cruise", I went back to the hotel and crashed.

- Tuesday, August 2nd-Well, today was the end of my month long road trip. I left the hotel and cruised on home. Mama was the first to welcome me home that afternoon and boy was I happy to see Audo and Patrick later on that night. There's nothing like the smell marsh mud when you cross over North River bridge! That's when you KNOW you're home. Jessica and I made a lot of memories and this trip will be one we'll never forget! I hope you've enjoyed our photos and crazy stories over the past month! Thank you for following along with us on our fantastic journey!!!!!
